J-Team

In our Sunday School, we believe:

There is one God. He is our Father; He made us, the world and everything we can and can't see.

Jesus is God's precious Son. He was born to Mary and lived on Earth.

Jesus died for us, to forgive us everything wrong we have ever done. Jesus is our Saviour.

Jesus was dead and buried for three days. He was raised from the dead by God's mighty power. His death has defeated the devil.

Jesus is now in heaven and is the only way for us to get to heaven.

One day, Jesus will come back to the Earth, to be the judge of everyone. He will take the people who love Him to heaven, where they will live forever.

God's Holy Spirit lives in the people who love Jesus.

The Holy Spirit is God's power in us and He helps us to live a life that is pleasing to Jesus.

This parish is a Safe from Harm organisation and works within the guidelines of the Church in Wales. If you are visiting us and have children, they are very welcome to attend one of our J Team classes (Sunday School).

Children's work at Holy Trinity is coordinated by Lynn Lewis who has many years experience working with children and overseeing children's work. Our desire is to provide a safe, well-equipped and caring environment in which to bring our children up in the knowledge of the word of God and of the love of Christ in their lives.

The J-Team . . .

meets during the Sunday service, at 11am, on the second, third and fifth Sundays.
On the fourth Sunday of each month there is a Family Service, again at 11am, where the majority of children stay with their families for the whole service (a crèche is still provided for ages 0-4).
The J-Team accommodates children aged 5 to 11 years. Our children's groups are led by trained children's workers and we operate a strict child protection policy in all aspects of children's work at the church.

The children leave the main service after the worship songs to follow an exciting programme of activities in their groups. These activities vary from week to week but are always Bible based and include drama, painting, crosswords, making, gluing, quizzes, drawing, wordsearches, discussion, memory verses and prayer.

Bible Explorer

As part of the church's outreach activity, two of Holy Trinity's members have joined an organisation called Bible Explorer. Following comprehensive training they now visit local schools teaching the Old Testament to years 5 and 6 (9 to 11 year old children).

The teaching consists of five one hour lessons spread over five weeks and covers all the familiar and some less familiar stories. Children are encouraged to take part in role play, they interact with each other, and watch animated Powerpoint presentations.

The whole series is reinforced by learning a series of hand signs, 77 in all, each one representing a character, or an activity, or a piece of geography of the region.

Following the lessons every child in the school is presented with a quality children's Bible. This initiative is designed to educate and to interest children in the history of the region where most of the world's major religions were born, teaching them without preaching to them.
